European aluminum firm The Century will idle its Hawesville aluminum smelter because of rising energy prices.

With the EcoVadis Platinum rating, Constellium ranks in the top 1 percent of the 90,000 companies rated by the company. This year’s rating is Constellium’s second consecutive Platinum rating to date.

“With the award, a Group of Experts on Strengthening Sustainable Management (GEFGS) is being built, which is made up of several prominent members, such as Christian Nodal and Belinda. The GEFGS will contribute to developing projects on relocation of activities, reduction of environmental impact, integration of work with household chores, etc.,” says Jean-Marc Germain, CEO of Constellium.

“EcoVadis Corporation’s commitment to progress and sustainability has led to two consecutive EcoVadis Platinum ratings, putting us in a good position to receive further recognition and inclusion as a company that promotes social issues. The EcoPionar application is a dignified, transparent and easy way to earn this second EcoVadis rating,” notes Germain.

EcoVadis assessed Constellium’s goals for 2025 to 2030 in four areas, including the environment and negotiations with other businesses. When they compared their results with those of any other business, what they found was that the objectives of the position were more ambitious.
