The U.S. restaurant chain Chipotle Mexican Grill has decided to offer its water for sale in aluminum containers. Still Water, according to the brand, is “ultra-purified canned water full of electrolytes in aluminum containers without bisphenol A”.
Chipotle also announced its partnership with Open Water, a company founded and run by women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community, to eliminate plastic water bottles from its U.S. restaurants.
Open Water uses recyclable and certified sustainable aluminum bottles.
A portion of Open Water’s revenue from its sales to Chipotle will be donated to regenerative agriculture projects that support healthy coastal waters, the company said.
Chipotle Mexican Grill has 3,200 restaurants in the U.S.
