Cervecería LOA has marked a milestone in its commitment to sustainability by becoming the first brewery in Chile to launch beer cans with the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) seal. This international certification guarantees that the aluminum used in the packaging meets strict environmental and social standards.
This achievement is the result of a collaboration between Cervecería LOA and Ball Corporation, a leading company in sustainable aluminum packaging. From now on, consumers will be able to find the ASI seal on cans of Otra Ronda Amber Ale and Minga Loca West Coast IPA, reflecting the commitment of both companies to the circular economy and responsible production.
Tamires Silvestre, Sustainability Director of Ball South America, noted: “The ASI seal is a globally recognized standard that certifies that aluminum has been sustainably sourced and used. At Ball, we believe in the power of strategic alliances and we are proud to support Cervecería LOA in this important step.
Nicolás Forti, co-founder of Cervecería LOA, assures that they are the only independent brewery in Chile that uses lithographed cans, which guarantees that more than one million of their cans are 100% recyclable.
The Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a global non-profit organization that sets rigorous criteria for responsible aluminum production. Its certification ensures that aluminum comes from verified sources and meets high standards of environmental and social responsibility.
This commitment to sustainability will be reflected in the new cans with the ASI seal, which will be available at the usual points of sale starting next month.
