Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG has announced changes to its executive board effective in May. Specifically, next month, Heike Denecke-Arnold will become a member of the Executive Board responsible for the operational areas of production. The focus on the transformation and decarbonization of steel production requires the expansion of the Executive Board.
At the last extraordinary meeting held on April 7, 2022, the Supervisory Board of Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG approved the proposal to expand the Executive Board of Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG. At that meeting it was agreed that Denecke-Arnold would be responsible for the operational areas of production and thus for the entire area from steel production to the finishing stages, as well as quality and logistics.
Among the many growing challenges is the 20-30 strategy, in which Thyssenkrupp Steel is focusing on its operational performance and the strategic orientation of the steel business. In addition, the company has to manage an unprecedented transformation in order to achieve the goal of making steel production climate neutral by 2045.
To achieve this goal, the company has to carry out massive changes in the structure and operation of the plant. Precisely the successful development of climate-neutral production is of crucial importance for the future viability and competitiveness of Thyssenkrupp Steel. In this context, the supervisory board has resolved to expand the executive board of the Steel segment to include the function of an operating member of the executive board.
Denecke-Arnold will be responsible for production operations from the initial operations to the finishing stages, as well as quality and logistics. This direction will become the engine of operational production performance in the company.
