Constellium joined forces with Chanel Fragrance & Beauty and g.pivaudran to launch new packaging for Chanel’s “Le Volume” mascara line. This packaging is made from recycled aluminum materials. According to the new design, the mascara packaging will have a percentage of 10-20% recycled material from final consumption.
Since 2018, Constellium has been collaborating with luxury packaging specialist g.pivaudran on a joint project. During this time, they have faced various technical challenges, such as problems with deep embossing and maintaining a smooth or brushed decoration. They have also focused on maintaining the appearance of the material after the anodizing process and ensuring the stability of the raw material by using recycled content.
“We are very proud of this great achievement, which supports the growing trend toward green solutions in the beauty industry,” said Patrick Broom, Constellium’s director of Sales and Specialty Marketing. “We would like to thank Chanel for paving the way towards greener solutions in the beauty industry. We are proud to partner with them and g.pivaudran to advance sustainable packaging solutions for luxury cosmetics.”
In Germany, specifically in the city of Singen, is the Constellium rolling mill, which is renowned for its ability to produce highly specialized aluminum surfaces used in the cosmetics industry. In order to achieve high gloss finishes and characteristics ideal for deep drawing, Constellium has created special alloys with uniform properties that meet specific dimensional tolerances.
