Chanel is striving for greater environmental responsibility in its products. This was reflected in the Chance eaux de toilette line of perfumes, as the brand has decided to replace the use of galvanized and varnished brass to wrap the bottles with a strip made of anodized aluminum.

In particular, this important change reflects the brand’s objective of improving the sustainability of its products because, in addition to replacing the use of chemicals required in the galvanizing process, aluminum was chosen for its environmental advantages and recycling-friendly characteristics.

The French company g.pivaudran, specialized in the manufacture of aluminum parts for the perfumery, cosmetics and alcoholic beverages sectors, is in charge of producing these new metal strips specialized in the manufacture of aluminum parts for the perfumery, cosmetics and alcoholic beverages sectors.
The company’s production team also faced a major challenge with the manufacture of aluminum bands for its bottles. The automated assembly of the product required high precision and complexity, resulting in bands that adapt perfectly to the curvature of the vials while maintaining the characteristic brightness of the aluminum.

According to Marc Pivaudran, CEO of g.pivaudran, there is a unique quality in the use of aluminum to meet the requirements of luxury brands. He also highlighted the added value of aluminum as an environmentally friendly, recyclable, lightweight and versatile solution that meets the needs of luxury brands.

The luxury brand has prepared a new launch for its bottles with anodized aluminum caps. These items will be available by the end of the year in 100-milliliter bottles, after which the range will be expanded to 35, 50 and 150 ml by 2024.
