Consumer Convenience Technologies (CCT) has announced an aluminum-handled version of its EEASY lid, which allows consumers to vent a bottle by pressing a button on the lid for easy opening.
According to CCT, its patented EEASY Lid reduces the amount of torque required to turn a bottle cap by more than 58% for traditional lug caps and by 40% compared to standard continuous thread (CT) caps. In particular, this can make packaging more accessible to disabled or mobility-impaired consumers, for whom opening a bottle can be incredibly difficult and cause them to avoid certain products.
Friedrich Berlemann, CEO of Trade Consult, notes that “with years of experience in the food and retail industries, we immediately recognized the value of EEASY Lid for brands and consumers. We saw consumer demand for a jar lid that is easier to open, and we spent eight years of research and development to create the EEASY Lid with accessibility in mind. This is a win for companies looking to meet consumer needs and a win for consumers to open a jar lid with ease.”
CCT claims that EEASY Lid will be the world’s first aluminum lug cap. In addition, the use of aluminum instead of steel, from which metal lug caps are normally made, makes the new EEASY cap the more sustainable option.
The company adds that the CT version of its EEASY cap has been proven to drive sales. In addition, the EEASY lid will be on display at the Amsterdam trade show, the PLMA New Product Expo, from May 31 to June 1 in Hall 8, F417. Brandon Bach, president of CCT, notes, “By unveiling the EEASY cap at PLMA, we will have the opportunity to demonstrate that consumers are willing to buy products that are easier to use every day. We have seen consumer demand for a jar lid that is easier to open, and we have spent eight years of research and development to create the EEASY lid with accessibility in mind. This is a win for companies looking to meet consumer needs and a win for consumers to open a jar lid with ease.”
In addition, CCT partnered with Germany-based Trade Consult, a sales and marketing firm that focuses on the grocery industry and food manufacturers, to secure interest and schedule meetings with brands for the European launch of the aluminum EEASY lid. Apparently, the company is looking to make the EEASY cap available to consumers by the end of 2022.
