Danish brewer Carlsberg is confident that organic operating profit growth this 2022 will be below last year’s level. Carlsberg says it expects organic operating earnings to grow between 0% and 7% this year, down from 12.5% growth last year, citing higher costs and continued restrictions due to the coronavirus.
CEO Cees ‘t Hart admits: “We are very pleased with the group’s performance in 2021. Although our business was significantly impacted by COVID-19, we achieved strong growth in earnings and free cash flow” to which he adds that “significantly higher input costs and the continued impact of COVID-19 will pose challenges in 2022, but we are well prepared.”
Finally, the world’s third largest brewer confirms that sales in the fourth quarter of last year reached 2,045 million euros (2,340 million dollars).
