Carling celebrates over 30 years of relationship with British football with a special promotion that revives its classic 2002 image. The brand is placing 1,000 limited-edition retro cans in multipacks available in supermarkets and convenience stores across the UK.

The campaign includes a collaboration with Umbro that allows consumers to win 90s and 2000s-style football sweatshirts when purchasing the multipacks. The retro cans will arrive in stores on October 6.

The promotion kicked off in mid-September with Carling billboards at key stadiums such as St James’ Park (Newcastle), Stamford Bridge (Chelsea), Molineux (Wolves), and the grounds of Bolton Wanderers and Cardiff City. The images feature legendary players such as Alan Shearer, Frank Leboeuf, Don Cowie, Steve Bull, and Jussi Jääskeläinen, reinforcing the brand’s historical relationship with the sport.

Rachel Bailey, Brand Controller for Carling at Molson Coors Beverage Company, highlighted that “Carling has been linked to football for over three decades, supporting all levels of the game and offering refreshment to fans.” She noted that the retro collaboration with Umbro “captures the nostalgia of football from the beginnings of the Premier League and allows fans to own a piece of football history while driving sales in stores.”
