In the old Military Hospital of Algeciras you can appreciate the sculptures made with cans that participate in the VIII Contest organized by the City Council. This contest is one of the events included in the Christmas program and is considered a deep-rooted tradition in the municipality, known as “arrastras latas” and has even been adopted by nearby towns.
Those interested in seeing the sculptures will have time until Friday, January 3, after which they will be removed to participate in the Dragging on January 5. The organization has established prizes for the first three places, with the first prize of 150 euros in toys, the second prize of 100 euros and the third prize of 50 euros, all in the form of toys.
Some of the exhibits include a cargo ship, a Batman figurehead and a sports car.
