The Polish multinational Canpack will invest R$ 710 million in the construction of a new plant for the production of aluminum cans in Poços de Caldas (MG). The plant will have a total capacity of 1.3 billion units per year.

Work on the project, which will receive incentives from the municipal and state governments, will begin at the end of the year and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2024 in order to begin full operations. This project will also generate approximately 140 direct jobs in the region.

“This new investment, together with recent investments in Brazil, will give us a better position to meet the growing needs of our beverage can customers, not only in Brazil, but in the South American regional market,” said André Balbi, chief operating officer of Canpack Group.

Last June, Canpack also announced a new aluminum caps factory in Manaus. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2023.
