Canpack, another Polish company that also produces beverage cans, will invest more than 250 million pesos in a new aluminum production facility near the Manaus international airport. The work is expected to start in 2023.
“The can is living a unique moment. And Manaus is the city that has become the largest producer of can ends in the world, and will be further consolidated with this new unit in 2023,” says the executive president of the Brazilian Association of Aluminum Can Manufacturers (Abralatas), Cátilo Cândido.
According to Abralatas figures, the city currently concentrates more than 80% of the total production of this component of the can, showing that last year alone it sold more than 33 billion units.
In addition, the companies already installed have increased their production lines, with more modern and efficient machinery. With such positive data, the expectation is that Manaus will increase from the current 25 billion caps produced per year to 37 billion units by next year.
