CANPACK India, a subsidiary of the CANPACK Group, has been recognized for its excellence in packaging design after winning two awards at the recent Indiastar 2020 Awards. A long awaited event after having been previously suspended by Covid-19.

These prestigious awards, which are recognized worldwide by the World Packaging Organization and the Asian Packaging Federation, are organized by the Indian Packaging Institute, an autonomous body set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, to promote packaging standards in the country.

CANPACK’s 300 ml Shunya cans struck a chord with the Indiastar judging panel. For the first time, pure Indian content such as Ashwagandha and green tea was used to fill a beverage in cans. Shunya’s calorie-free, artificial sweetener-free beverage received enhanced shelf appeal thanks to CANPACK’s MATT effect and special lacquer, which makes the cans smooth to the touch.

On the other hand, Sula Vineyard’s 330 ml canned wines also proved to be quite popular with the judges. The cans achieved great shelf appeal thanks to CANPACK’s MATT effect. Thus, India’s first canned wine, CANPACK was instrumental in providing innovative packaging solutions to help bring Sula’s refreshing sparkling wines to market. The special lacquer coated on the entire surface of the can body gives a soft touch to the can and works well on both light and dark colors.

CANPACK India CEO Vikram Potdar details that CANPACK India has been consistently manufacturing good quality cans and designs as per customer needs. This is one of India’s most prestigious national awards recognizing excellence in packaging design, so we are delighted that the 330 ml Sula and 300 ml Shunya cans have been successful,” he concludes.
