CANNED FOOD FROM NAVARRE FEEDING IN THE DEVASTATED AREAS OF UKRAINE

In these times of war, the IAN- Carretilla Food Group has done everything possible to bring aid to citizens affected by the war. The last 20 tons of cans of food have been sent to devastated territories where many elderly people and families with children are trying to survive.

The last 20 tons of food aid in terms of donations that departed from Navarre managed to set foot on Ukrainian territory. This operation was coordinated by the Nurses Foundation of Navarra together with ‘Guardian Angels’, a Ukrainian entity, and completed a month since its departure from the port Ayuda Contenedores de Pamplona to the east of the country, specifically Bajmut and Kharkov.

The people who carry out this suicidal work of distribution in hostile territory are mainly women. They load their cars in an industrial warehouse in Lviv and drive on roads opened by shrapnel, permanently exposing themselves to Russian drone attacks that track the work of these organizations to make it difficult to survive on the front line.

From the NGO olVIDAdos, located at this moment on the Romanian border, humanitarian aid is transferred to totally deprived areas of Ukraine, with the collaboration of different religious entities and civil groups, which carry out the deliveries in large spaces set up for this purpose, such as hospitals, orphanages, churches, factories, restaurants or schools in the area.

The Redemptorists of A.M.A.P. provide food to 500 needy people in Lviv and its surroundings. While from the Evangelical Church of Odessa, they send the food to the areas of Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kherson, thus helping the people affected by the conflict that has ravaged Ukraine since last February.
