The Cabildo de La Palma has received more than 4 million euros in donations from individuals, entities and private companies that have made a financial contribution through the channels provided by the island institution.

One of these companies in the company Calvo, who has donated 1,468 kilos of canned tuna to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks for distribution among families affected by the eruption of the volcano on La Palma.

With this solidarity initiative, Calvo responds to the call of the Food Bank, which has promoted the initiative ‘All with La Palma’, to receive basic necessities with which to attend urgently to the people most affected by the eruption of the volcano. Precisely, canned fish is a basic component in the aid packages for families in vulnerable situations and emergency situations, due to its high nutritional capacity, duration, and ease of consumption.

Calvo’s donation represents almost all of its stock of large formats stored in the Canary Islands. The group, headed by Mané Calvo, stresses that its relationship with both the Canary Islands and the Food Banks of Spain is part of its commitment to the communities in which it operates.
