The Calvo Group’s easy tip-up bottle has been chosen as the most innovative product of 2021 according to a study that gathers the most outstanding and successful developments in the FMCG sector in Spain. The report, which analyzes more than 1,000 new developments, highlights that the main success of the system has been that it meets relevant needs that have not been met until now.
Among the many advantages of the Real Peel system is that it is easier to serve, as the product comes out on its own, with a simple twist, without the need for a fork, all thanks to its aluminum lid with a large, indented tab.

In the factory, this development has been a major technological change for many reasons. It has been necessary to change everything from the liquid dispensers to the sealing system, which is now thermosealing, or the way of moving the cans around the factory. The company assures that this has been an enormous industrial challenge.
During the last four years, Calvo undertook a comprehensive redesign of manufacturing through the complete technological renovation, automation and digitalization of all the plant’s processes, which has resulted in a more competitive, efficient and flexible factory, placing it at the forefront of the European canning industry.
The response from consumers has been very good, since, after all, it was something that the customers themselves had been demanding. They wanted an easier opening, with less oil and not having to use a fork to remove the product, which is now much more presentable and appetizing on the plate.
The first result of this transformation, which involved an investment of 30 million euros and a long period of work, study, preparation and development, was the patented Real Peel technology, which gave rise to the easy tipping system, but which has opened the way for new innovations.
