Brooklyn Brewery has just launched a new variety of beer made with the black sorghum cereal producing a very peculiar beer, brewed with an ancient West African grain. This novel blend is based on hops and fonio nut, so it has a good fruity flavor. It is sold exclusively at Whole Foods Market because it has 5.6% alcohol.

U.S. craft beer brand ‘Brooklyn Brewery’ announced the launch of a new product called Brooklyn Brewery x Yolélé Fonio White Beer. Unlike the rest, its format is not a lager or pale ale but a white beer; it is also a project between the two companies to popularize the use of African grain in the United States by Yolélé.

“We hope this beer can do a number of things in the future beyond tasting delicious. It can serve as an educational opportunity to promote Fonio and other grains grown with sustainability in mind as viable ingredients in food products that can really make a difference in the world,” noted Miles Moser, vice president of sales for Brooklyn Brewery.
