The Brazilian brewer Ambev increased its profits by 29.1% in the first quarter and recorded revenues of close to 3.71 billion dollars, which translates into an increase of almost 10.8% over the same period of the previous year.

In addition, beer volumes sold grew by 3.6%, while net revenues were US$711 million between January and the end of March, above the estimate of US$562 million. Ambev’s CEO, Jean Jereissati, notes that “we achieved growth in volume and EBITDA, despite the industry’s volatility in several markets and the fact that costs remain under pressure.

On the other hand, since the beginning of the year, Ambev has been promoting Lemon, a startup specialized in the energy market, in Brazil, with the aim of improving the environmental image of its business. Through the partnership, which is part of a global ABInbev initiative, a bridge is being built between renewable energy producers and bars, restaurants and concert venues. This project also has a short-term impact on bars that sell Ambev beverages, since the discount on the electricity bill can reach 20%.
