The Ohio State University (OSU) with its Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) have formed a strategic alliance with BetterCans, LLC to launch the first technical seminar of its kind on two-piece aluminum beverage cans.

The seminar titled ‘A Young Packaging for Future Generations’ is unique in the industry for its technical level and the wide range of collaborators who will be present at the event.

The seminar will last two days, which will translate into 8 effective hours of training per day at OSU facilities, a total of 16 hours of lecture or knowledge transfer.

The seminar will take place in August of this year and will feature speakers from distinguished companies in the two-piece aluminum beverage can manufacturing industry.

The course is aimed at can manufacturers and can users (canmakers and non-canmakers/brand owners), covering topics from the status of the aluminum beverage can manufacturing industry to the actual conditioning of cans for their stability on supermarket shelves.
