Bernard Slack has joined MPMA as its new manager of technical and regulatory affairs. With over thirty years’ experience in packaging coatings, a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Polymer Science from Lancaster University, Bernard has held a number of technical roles in the industry. Most recently, he worked at AkzoNobel, where he led a team of research and development chemists focused on new product development and customer support.

Commenting on his new position, Bernard said: “I am excited to be joining at such a crucial time for the industry. With Extended Producer Responsibility and Deposit Return Systems imminent, it is essential that MPMA members are well prepared to deal with these significant changes. I look forward to providing the technical guidance and regulatory support they need to remain compliant, competitive and ready to succeed in an ever-evolving regulatory environment.”

Jason Galley, director and chief executive officer of MPMA, added: “We are delighted to welcome Bernard to MPMA at such an active and dynamic time for regulatory affairs. His experience will undoubtedly help us strengthen our influence and bring greater benefits to both our members and the industry as a whole.”
