The world’s largest supplier of hybrid packaging, Berlin Packaging, has just announced the acquisition of Panvetri, a family-owned supplier of glass and metal containers for the wine and olive oil industries.
Berlin Packaging is the world’s largest Hybrid Packaging Supplier® for glass, plastic and metal containers and closures. The company supplies billions of items annually along with packaging design, financing, consulting, warehousing and logistics services to customers in all industries.
Founded in 1998 and based in Modugno (Bari) in southern Italy, it operates mainly in Puglia and Basilicata, serving a wide range of wine estates, cooperative wineries, oil mills and food manufacturers. In addition to wine and olive oil bottles, Panvetri’s portfolio includes beer, spirits and sparkling wine bottles, olive oil cans, food jars, caps and closures.
“Italy is a key country for the wine and olive oil sectors, and Panvetri allows us to boost our presence and expand our coverage of southern Italy,” says Paolo Recrosio, CEO of Berlin Packaging EMEA.

The company has announced that all employees will be retained and the current locations will be retained.
