Berlin Packaging, a global company that sells glass, plastic and metal containers as well as various closures for the beverage and high-end cosmetics sectors, recently announced its acquisition of South Korea-based Nest-Filler PKG Co., Ltd., which specializes in packaging for beauty and cosmetic products. By acquiring this company, Berlin Packaging expands its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and strengthens its packaging offering for the beauty and cosmetics industry.
Founded in 2003 by Steve Shim and located near Seoul, Nest-Filler is a South Korean company that provides a variety of packaging solutions for the cosmetics and skin care markets. The company is responsible for the design and development of advanced packaging manufactured by industry-leading suppliers based in South Korea. Its wide selection includes items made from plastic and glass, highlighting its commitment to sustainable choices.
The institution in charge of researching and developing new packaging solutions at Nest-Filler focuses on the creation of advanced technologies using recycled resin, refill systems and other environmentally friendly alternatives.
According to Berlin Packaging’s Global CEO and president, Bill Hayes, the acquisition of a company in Asia-Pacific is a strategic decision that expands his company’s presence in that region and also enhances its capabilities in the global beauty and cosmetics sector. In addition, this acquisition gives customers even greater access to premium packaging manufactured in South Korea, a leader in the skin care industry.
The purchase will not affect current employees and locations, as they will all be retained for this acquisition. Although financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. At the beginning of 2022, Berlin Packaging had significantly expanded its range of solutions for the beauty sector by acquiring Premi, a company based in Italy.
