Bericap, a leading manufacturer of aluminum and plastic closures, has announced an agreement to acquire a 50% interest in Bericap North America (BCNA) previously owned by Amcor Rigid Packaging.

This means that the global family-owned manufacturing company Bericap will acquire 100% of the shares in BCNA. The joint venture, founded in 1997 as a 50/50 partnership between Bericap and Amcor in Burlington, Ontario, has grown into a successful business with annual revenues of US$200 million.

BCNA operates three production facilities located in the U.S. (Cowpens, South Carolina), Canada (Burlington) and Mexico (Mexico City) and offers the complete portfolio of Bericap closures for the food, beverage and industrial markets. The acquisition of the shares in BCNA is the most significant investment in the company’s nearly 100-year history and demonstrates its strong commitment to the North American market.
