The closure specialist BERICAP continues its geographic expansion with new production facilities in Africa, South America and Southeast Asia. BERICAP has opened new plants in Nairobi (Kenya) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and has acquired production facilities in Lima (Peru) and Durban (South Africa). The company now operates 30 production sites in 25 countries to be close to its customers in terms of project support, logistics and services.
The new 3,500 m² facility in Nairobi/Kenya stabilizes the commercial business that has been developed over the past 8 years. Especially closures are produced for the lubricant industry and for food and beverage manufacturers.

BERICAP also exports fasteners manufactured at the Nairobi plant to ten African countries. Bericap East Africa’s managing director, Bericap East Africa, says this new plant in Kenya is a milestone in the company’s expansion, especially given the short time frame in which it was decided to open this plant: “our customers appreciate the comprehensive local support and reliable product availability”. he assured.

This major closure company has recently invested in another plant in Africa and now also has operations in South Africa. The fastener business it acquired was a division of Nampak, a company with which it has had a technology partnership since 1998 for the South African market. The production facility in Durban commenced operations as BERICAP South Africa (PTY) LTD in March 2024.

The South African division will market BERICAP’s entire portfolio of closures, as well as locally manufactured closures, in South Africa and neighboring countries.
Peru is BERICAP’s fourth largest production site in Latin America and also provides good access to Bolivia, the northern part of Chile and Ecuador, bringing the total number of consumers to around 60 million. Major companies in Peru have also indicated their interest in having a closure specialist with explicit research and development experience in the region. This led the company to acquire a 5,000 m² production facility in Lima with 50 employees. Peru’s team is supported by teams from Brazil and Argentina.

In September 2023, BERICAP chose Vietnam as another base in the thriving Southeast Asian region and established a production site there. This investment reflects the region’s excellent market potential for modern closure solutions in the beverage and dairy, food and chemical sectors. Production started in mid-October and the plant has passed all mandatory external audits.
