  3. The Torus Group offers a wide range of products and services. Could you highlight some of the most innovative ones and how they are changing the landscape of their industry?
Torus prides itself on its continuous innovation and willingness to explore and develop new and exciting technologies.
Our most recent innovation is the Z606 Thickness Gauge, which solves the historical needs of the Food and Beverage industries to measure Residual Thickness of the Tab, in addition to providing feedback on Tab Profile, Width, Depth and Quality.
This system is the first and only one of its kind in the world, using 3D interferometric scanning with nanometer resolution and unmatched accuracy and repeatability.
It represents a breakthrough for the metal packaging industry.
  4. Torus Metrology’s calibration laboratory is UKAS accredited. Could you explain how this recognition improves the quality of your services?
UKAS accreditation provides an independent assurance of technical competence; it is what sets us apart and defines Torus as a Metrology first company. This means that Torus is internationally recognized and accredited to the highest standards, giving our clients confidence in results they can trust anywhere in the world.
  5. What challenges has the Torus Group set for the coming years and how do they align with current market trends?
Torus is always investing in the future of the business, expanding year after year in multiple areas, one of which is our R&D department. We are continually researching the latest techniques ensuring Torus remains a global leader in inspection and firmly believe we have the knowledge to influence the next generation of inspection for the future, keeping Torus aligned with ever-changing market trends.
  6. In a world increasingly aware of sustainability, how is this concept integrated into the Torus Group’s strategy, especially in Latin America?
The market in Latin America is huge, and the can market plays an environmental and social role, as aluminum can recycling generates jobs, moves massive amounts of money and at the same time contributes to a more sustainable planet. As a 100% recyclable metal, aluminum can be recycled infinitely without losing its properties. Brazil is the world leader in aluminum can recycling. Providing equipment for this industry also means participating in this sustainable chain.
  7. In your opinion, what are the main challenges currently facing Torus?
Being prepared for what the future may hold remains the biggest challenge not only for Torus, but for everyone. Recent years have shown how much impact global events can have on a business operation, affecting employees, supply chains, logistics, culture and more.
Torus maintains close working relationships with both customers and suppliers to better navigate uncertain times.
The expansion of the Torus Group, which includes the introduction of Torus Metrology, Torus Manufacturing and Torus Modular Frameworks, has enabled us to bring key supply chains “in-house”, providing a solid and flexible foundation to enable us to continue to support our customers on the global stage.
  8. Finally, what short- and medium-term plans are in place to expand in South America? Can it be said that growth expectations are positive for 2024?
Torus will continue to grow and strengthen our operations in South America, with an expanded parts and support offering, while continually expanding our group service offering.
We are in the best position to offer the most complete range of products and services in the entire Metal Packaging industry and more. 2024 is going to be a very exciting year for the Torus Group and Torus South America, so stay tuned!
