The Chinese company Baosteel Group, based in the Asian country, has decided to open up to the international Asian market with an investment of millions of dollars. The company will spend about $50.7 million on a new beverage can plant to be based in Cambodia’s Kampong Speu province.
The investment was approved by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). The country’s government authorities have welcomed this important business investment, which will provide a significant boost to the local economy.
Vei Samnang, governor of Kampong Speu province, has also welcomed the company and the important project as it will help develop the local economy by producing and supplying cans to local breweries and beverage manufacturers in Cambodia. The facility is expected to create more than 150 direct and indirect jobs for the local population.
