New investment in Cambodia. The Baosteel Group, based in China, is expanding and has decided to focus on the Asian market. To this end, it will open a new can factory in Cambodia with an investment of around US$50.7 million, to be located in Kampong Speu.
The governor of the province, Vei Samnang, is delighted with the investment and stresses the importance it will have for developing the local economy through the production and supply of cans to local breweries and beverage manufacturers.
This project is expected to generate 150 direct jobs while plans are being developed to assist the villagers through educational courses.
