Ball Corporation’s president, Dan Fisher, will assume the additional position as chief executive officer in a few months when the company’s shareholders hold their annual general meeting on April 27. The executive will replace John Hayes, who has held the top position at the corporation since 2011 and will continue as chairman of the board of directors.
Fisher has been an executive at Ball for 12 years and previously held positions as senior vice president and chief operating officer of the company’s global beverage business. In addition, it recently supported Ball’s businesses for aluminum cups, aluminum aerosols and aerospace products. His industry career also includes leadership roles at Danaher and Emerson.
For his part, Stuart Taylor, the lead independent director on Ball’s board of directors, argues that Hayes’ leadership helped the company create shareholder value while observing social, economic and environmental sustainability.
John Hayes, president and chief executive officer, adds that “on behalf of our board of directors, we are pleased to select Dan as our next chief executive officer, the twelfth chief executive officer in our company’s 142-year history.”
