Consumer demand for sustainable packaging solutions in all categories of consumer packaged goods is undisputed: household and personal care products are no exception. Multinational Ball Corporation released a new report revealing an increase in consumer demand for sustainable aluminum packaging options.

The Aluminum Bottle Report synthesizes an online survey distributed to a balanced sample of 1666 consumers who have purchased a household or personal care product in the past 60 days. Conducted over six weeks and in six countries, United States, Mexico, Brazil, United Kingdom, France, Germany.

The report also reveals a significant market opportunity for personal and home care brands to diversify their packaging mix with aluminum to meet the sustainability preferences of today’s consumers and enable a circular economy.

“At Ball, we know that consumers want to buy products that are not only convenient and capable, but also better for the environment. We look forward to continuing to partner with our customers to meet this demand with innovative and recyclable aluminum packaging solutions,” noted Jay Billings, president of Ball Aerosol Packaging.

Precisely, 40% of consumers surveyed noted that they are inspired to make a purchase by on-package claims of “better for the environment” and “use less plastic,” and 50% noted that they prefer household and personal care packaging that is easy to recycle.

“We are excited about the potential of leveraging aluminum packaging in the bathroom. For packaging hair care products, deodorants, lotions and more, aluminum bottles are a premium, durable and infinitely recyclable option that also stands out on the shelf,” concluded Victoria Marletta, vice president commercial, Ball Aerosol Packaging.”
