The Brazilian industrial company Ball has launched a truly innovative new technology that allows professional-quality photos to be printed directly onto beverage cans.

One of the main innovations is that Ball Digital Printing offers color image reproduction in RGB format, superior to the unusually colorful prints that are traditional in the market, in 85 dpi format. It also has the added advantage that such a beverage company can develop complex campaigns using a multitude of colors, with surprising realism for packaging.

“Ball Digital Printing takes our communication capabilities to even greater levels, leaving the can definitively as a premium communication vehicle, capable of offering new experiences to consumers already on the shelf,” said Hugo Magalhães, director of Marketing and New Business at Ball South America.

Therefore, companies will now be able to exchange different cans of a smaller number of units than the traditional ones, starting from 400 units. This brings an added advantage as brands will carry their own exclusive and interactive campaigns linked to the Metaverse and NFTs.

Although the can is the only 360-degree labeled and interactive package with consumers, this new innovation represents a quantum leap and a new era for the packaging industry in terms of printing for the metal packaging industry.
