Ball Corporation, a global leader in sustainable aluminum packaging, has been awarded four prizes at the 32nd edition of the EMBANEWS Awards, one of the most important recognitions in the packaging sector in Brazil. The company was recognized in the categories of Innovation, Sustainability, Packaging Raw Materials, and Technology and Quality.

The most notable achievement was the beverage can with a Braille lid, developed for the brand Night Power, which becomes the first of its kind in the Brazilian market. This innovation, awarded in the Innovation category, was made possible through collaboration between Ball, Minalba, and the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind, which acted as a technical consultant to ensure the design’s accessibility.

“True innovation only happens when it’s designed for everyone”, stated Camila Vila Verde, Ball’s marketing manager for South America. “This award reinforces our commitment to accessibility and demonstrates that every detail counts in transforming the consumer experience”.

In addition to the inclusive development, two other projects —Soffie and Aeroflex— were awarded for the use of ReAl®, a lightweight alloy patented by Ball that allows for a significant reduction in aluminum use without affecting the packaging performance. This not only decreases environmental impact but also improves material circularity by incorporating recycled content and eliminating contaminants such as inks with mineral oils.

These distinctions consolidate Ball’s position as a leader in responsible innovation, demonstrating that it is possible to combine technology, sustainability, and inclusive design to transform the future of packaging.
