After winning two certifications from the international organization Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI), in the Performance Standard and Chain of Custody for 2021, the multinational Ball Corporation has decided to launch a special commemorative edition of aluminum cans for the Americas.
This new project also represents a significant step forward in the company’s 2030 goals, which involve the purchase of aluminum from sustainable sources for can production. Precisely, the production of the packaging, which also features artwork by Jaqueline Sampin, is the concrete result of the process that ensures sustainable performance based on environmental, social and governance principles throughout the aluminum value chain.
For this 2022, Ball has set the added goal of working on the commitment to engage its customers to also pursue this certification. With this, beverage brands will be able to market cans with the ASI seal in South America, ensuring that their products have a much more sustainable packaging.
Ball’s suppliers are already members of ASI. In addition to the 15 Ball Embalagens plants for Beverages in South America, the company has this important certification in 23 other plants that the multinational has spread throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the first in the world with the seal in 2020.
