Lader Energy, the Chilean company that develops renewable energy and technology projects throughout Latin America and Europe, has just launched for the first time in the Chilean market Awa Solar, a purified canned water using renewable solar energy.

Awa Solar has the particularity that it is extracted through a new solar technology that captures moisture from the air and performs the condensation process to generate high quality water. Subsequently, it is mineralized with an optimal taste for the consumer.

This launch adds to the worldwide trend of preferring aluminum containers for all types of beverages, since its characteristics position it as the best container for being 100% airtight, easy to transport, easy to cool and sustainable due to its infinite recycling capacity.

According to Andrés Vásquez, founding partner of Awa Solar, “the carbon footprint and water footprint in the production of our water is zero. Ball’s support has been impressive and it is very valuable to have companies that are aligned with a similar purpose to ours, which is the fight against climate change.

Hugo Magalhães, marketing director of Ball South America adds that “with this launch we continue to increase the variety of beverages that we can can. It is also a milestone for Chile as it is the first canned water produced locally, something that is already a well-established reality in the USA and Europe”.

For the time being, the production plant will operate only in the region of Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins, in southern Chile, but the new product is expected to land soon in Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.
