Japanese company Asahi Breweries has surprised with its new beer can design. These new cans have a full opening that turns them into a cup or mug when opened. Unlike traditional cans that only have a small drinking hole, these new cans have the entire top open to allow the consumer to easily enjoy the contents.

The design of this can is striking as two different metals have been used to solve the problem of the rim, which could be an inconvenience when drinking. This way, as it has two layers, the lower part is slightly inward, while the upper part is folded and is soft to the touch on the lips.
Asahi’s new can also has the ability to create foam, something that is essential for draft beer. When you open the lid and touch the can with your hands, you can see how the foam emerges from it almost as if by magic, with a shape similar to a mushroom.

Thanks to this new technology, customers can enjoy an experience similar to drinking beer straight from the keg in the comfort of their own home with Super Dry. The current cost per can is ¥168 excluding tax and ¥185 including tax for a single 340 ml unit. At exchange rates, this translates to approximately $1.70.
Asahi Breweries is an alcoholic beverage and soft drink company based in Tokyo, Japan. Founded in 1889, it has become Japan’s largest brewer, controlling 37% of the market.
