The European dairy cooperative Arla Foods, based in Denmark, officially opened its new milk powder production plant in Pentre-on-Fro (Rhineland-Palatinate) after three years of construction. This is the second milk powder production plant at Arla’s largest international site.
With this investment, the cooperative announced that its business would be strengthened internationally, especially in order to meet the growing global demand for dairy products. The investment is focused on providing the world’s dairy needs for its most delicious and nutritious parts. The plant will also manufacture products for B2B business with the food industry, using milk powder in chocolate or bakery products, for example.
As part of the five-year strategy Future26, Peder Tuborgh announces that the Arla Group will expand its business in international markets such as the Middle East, West Africa and Southeast Asia. In all of them you will find a considerable demand for dairy products as well as an out-of-control supply.
The multinational Arla, which is present in food retailing and whose central plant is a 51-meter high drying tower, can adapt 685 million liters per year to transform into 90,000 tons of milk powder.
