Anheuser-Busch recently announced plans to invest $14 million to further upgrade facilities and equipment at its Houston brewery.

The Budweiser and Michelob producer said the project will also include repairing elevators and doors, replacing the warehouse roof, upgrading can lines with new air rinsers to reduce water usage and strengthening the site’s wireless, copper and fiber connectivity.

“We’ve been proud members of the Texas community for nearly 60 years, and this investment is a testament to Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to producing high-quality beer here in Houston,”said Ryan Hudgins, the brewery’s senior general manager, in the announcement.

The project follows a $22.5 million investment in upgrades last year. The Houston plant, which dates back to 1966, is one of the company’s four facilities in Texas.

Anheuser-Busch said it has invested nearly $2 billion in its U.S. sites over the past five years.
