The Anfaco-Cecopesca canning employers’ association has managed to collect 5,709 cans of canned fish and seafood as part of its campaign Unha lata solidaria. All of them were delivered to the Galician Food Banks associated with the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (Fesbal).
This campaign, which has been running for the last two months, has also been extended to social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram and the Internet.Cata la Lata’swebsite, allowing all its users to donate canned food virtually.ún or atThe children were able to learn about mussels, sardines and sardinillas, while interacting and learning about the nutritional properties of these products.
The initiative was based on a virtual fortune roulette wheel, users would click on it and receiveThe winnersreceived a prize in the form of 3, 4 or 5 tins of the wide variety of fish and seafood that can be found in canned food, which Anfaco-Cecopesca subsequently handed over to the Galician Food Banks. According to the total data of the platform, there were 1,625 participations from 473 recurring users to reach 5,709 donations. It was shared more than 380 times.
At the end of the campaign, the cans donated virtually became real cans that were distributed among the Food Bank of Lugo, the Food Bank of Ourense, the Food Bank of Rías Altas and the Food Bank of Vigo.
