Roberto Alonso, who held the position of deputy secretary general, has just been appointed as the new president of Anfaco-Cecopesca. He succeeds Juan Vieites, who has just left the General Secretariat after 31 years in that position.

An active member of the organization for the past 5 years, he has represented the interests of the sector in the European Union Advisory Councils or in the Association of European Industrialists Aipce-CEP, of which he is vice-president.

The new secretary general also directs Funpromar’s Traceability Observatory and participates in initiatives linked to innovation, being a member of the Board of Directors of Ptepa or the Datalife Hub, as well as collaborating with the Technology Center in its development.

After his appointment, Alonso highlighted the gratitude, recognition and commitment assumed with Anfaco-Cecopesca and the sector, as well as appealed to the business values that have allowed the construction of a leading marine-industry complex and its essential contribution as agents of socioeconomic progress.
