The marine-industry sector association Anfaco-Cecopesca launched one more year, together with the Banco Sabadell Foundation, its design award. This contest, now in its fifth edition, seeks to creatively adapt these products to new market trends.

The project organizers have announced that young people up to 35 years of age have the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and talent by participating in the creation of innovative packaging. The deadline for submitting proposals is March 30, after which the jury will deliberate to select the winning packaging. “Packaging is the first means of communication with users, and for preserves, a territorial product that also functions as a souvenir should be a priority. A small object that exports knowledge, flavor and image,” said the organizers.

The competition is open to designers of any nationality, under 35 years of age, who have studied design or are currently studying at any Design School in Spain. A jury made up of renowned professionals will select the 10 finalists and the winner, who will receive a prize of 6,000 euros.

The winning creation will be part of a campaign to promote the consumption of canned fish and seafood that has been baptized with the name ‘Cata la Lata’, which will begin at the end of 2023 and will run until mid-2024.
