The National Association of Canned Fish Manufacturers (Anfaco-Cecopesca) has held a meeting with the Minister of the Sea, Marta Villaverde, to review the novelties introduced in the new regulations on artisanal canned goods in Galicia.
The regulatory update aims to promote the competitiveness of the canning sector through the recognition of elaborations with their own identity, which integrate traditional practices, local raw materials, and added value in the transformation processes. Among the highlights, the creation of a framework is contemplated to promote unique recipes within the canned fish and seafood sector, with special attention to traceability, labeling, and innovation applied to formats and processes.
ANFACO values this initiative positively, to the extent that it allows greater visibility and protection to Galician products in the national and international market, reinforcing the positioning of canned goods as a product of quality and differentiated origin.
