AMP OBTAINS CDP LEADERSHIP

ARDAGH METAL PACKAGING ACHIEVES CDP LEADERSHIP QUALIFICATION

The non-profit environmental, social and governance rating agency known as CDP, issued assessments worldwide for 2022. Ardagh Metal Packaging S.A. (AMP), a global beverage can supplier, received a leadership rating of A- for water management and a B rating for climate change.

The Association of the Metalworking Industry (AMP) is building on the inherent environmental advantages of infinitely recyclable beverage cans, which are a perfect example of a circular economy with recycled cans capable of returning to store shelves in their original form in approximately 60 days.

Last year, Ardagh Glass Packaging and AMP, both Ardagh Group businesses, achieved CDP ratings for the first time. This was the first year for an independent CDP rating and the company was compared to peer organizations in the metal fabricators category.

AMP’s CEO, Oliver Graham, stated his delight after receiving the CDP recognition. “We will maintain our path to environmental excellence as we consistently meet targets such as reducing emissions, waste and water use. Through this, we will continue to serve as an example of leadership in our local communities and further support our customers’ own sustainability platforms,” he added.

CDP measures and assesses risks and opportunities on climate change, water security and forests. CDP included stricter scoring in 2022 to drive best practices, improve data quality and better track organizations’ alignment to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius and, per the 2015 Paris Agreement, achieve net zero emissions by 2050. In 2022, more than 18,000 organizations worldwide participated in the CDP rating.
