American Canning, the U.S. food production and handling company, has committed to open a second line of shrink sleeves as they are considered to be more resistant and provide greater protection.

The company officially inaugurated its second shrink sleeving line that doubles the company’s sleeving capacity. Efforts are being made to help brewery owners. They make operations faster, use recipes and offer ways to verify compliance with federal regulations.

American Canning has enabled craft beverage producers to serve them with a minimum order quantity, and an affordable price and time for decorated cans. Demand grew because there is a shortage of printed cans, so the company is looking to absorb this.

“In the production process, at the end of the day we were focusing on small and medium-sized producers who typically can’t have a large batch to meet demand,” Spooner said. “But we knew we were going to need the additional capacity to meet demand.” It gives us the opportunity to be more efficient. With this decision we will have 2 lines running simultaneously, thus doubling our line capacity.”

“It’s a matter of options. We’re always looking for sustainable options, trying to find new technologies that happen,” Spooner said. “Our team is available to investigate anything that is presented to us if there is. Now however, we’re just exploring the ones that already exist,” notes Russ Spooner, American Canning’s vice president of operations.

The company, which manufactures artisanal beverage bottle sleeves, expressed its intention to support small and medium-sized beverage producers with its products.

American Canning started in 2013 providing packaging for craft beverage producers and, with the help of some investors, achieved a tremendous amount of success. In 2017, American Canning launched shrink sleeve can service for the first time, breaking the traditional outlines of the service that others offered. Finally, it continued to expand by purchasing its own painting machinery in 2019, allowing them to actively offer this option to their customers as well.
