American Canning recently halted operations at its Aluminum Toyo Ultimate Can (aTULC) can manufacturing plant in Texas, abruptly ending an innovative packaging partnership pioneered in the country that had attracted significant interest from ready-to-drink cocktail and energy drink manufacturers. This move will affect thousands of customers.

In a letter to customers, publicized by Brewbound, BevNET, American Canning co-founder and CEO David Racino wrote that Japanese manufacturer Toyo Seikan Group Holdings. “has unexpectedly decided to stop supporting the can plant project and has terminated all agreements, forcing an immediate closure of the facility toTULC.”
