The Web Summit, the world’s largest technology conference, held this month in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), hosted Ambev’s new launch. It is a new draft beer called Brahma in 350 ml presentations in aluminum cans. The novelty is currently in the testing phase in the city where the event took place, available only in the Zé Delivery beverage application, but should soon reach new locations.
Brewer Ambev has recently experienced a steady increase in demand for its beers on tap, and consumers have expressed a desire to be able to enjoy the same experience inside their homes without any additional hassle.
The company’s technological innovation center (CIT), located in Rio de Janeiro, was challenged to come up with the ideal recipe for canned draft beer. In addition to lessons learned from ongoing projects, there was consultation on best practices from the Asian operation to maintain quality and accurately replicate the experience of those tasting the liquid at the bar.
Daniel Baumann, who is the director of CIT (Centro de Investigación Tecnológica), noted that.
“it took a lot of research and testing until we came up with a microfiltration process that guarantees quality, freshness and a super creamy foam.”
“This innovation was only possible thanks to the advancement in the platform model that Ambev has been developing in recent years, because, despite being in the can, Brahma draft beer needs to have the entire logistics chain refrigerated to ensure quality and freshness, from the brewery to the consumer’s home.” concluded Gustavo Castro, the company’s Director of Innovation.
