Aluminum container recycling organization Alupro has launched an educational campaign to help students improve their knowledge of recycling. Since March 7, schools across the UK and Ireland have been invited to participate in the ‘Bin-fluencers’ campaign, which promotes resource efficiency in the classroom in a fun and engaging way.
Tom Giddings, general manager of Alupro, highlights the importance of this type of initiative from an educational perspective. “We believe that educating students about recycling and inspiring the next generation to become sustainability influencers will help drive ever-increasing recycling rates. We look forward to launching our latest campaign and supporting teachers as they work with their classrooms to promote the benefits of recycling,” he says.
Giddings further adds that the ‘Bin-fluencers’ campaign is the latest in a long line of educational initiatives created by Alupro to make recycling more attractive to primary and secondary school students. He is confident that these comprehensive learning resources will make it easier for teachers to integrate recycling into the curriculum and fun for students to participate.
Among the proposals, students are encouraged to design their own video game inspired by influential people and then share it on social networks. Among the prizes, tablets for the winning students and 500 pounds for the first place school.
