Alupro presented its latest innovations at ADF Paris. All this from Tom Giddings, CEO of Alupro, who shared his thoughts on achieving higher aerosol recycling rates at the AEROBAL 2023 General Assembly meeting. Taking place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the event brought together leading brands from across the industry to discuss innovation, collaboration, success and progress.
As part of his remote presentation, Giddings discussed Alupro’s recent launch of the UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative, a program designed to drive an increase in aerosol recycling rates; as well as his latest insights into establishing an accurate national picture of aerosol recycling.
The cross-sector initiative brings together working group partners from across the value chain, including the British Aerosol Manufacturers Association (BAMA), waste management specialists and aerosol manufacturers. In addition to ensuring that aerosols become a central part of consumer recycling behavior, the group aims to ensure systematic changes in the waste management infrastructure to facilitate widespread aerosol recycling.
Going forward, members intend to create an industry-led roadmap to address both consumer and government awareness when it comes to the urgency of the transition to a circular economy. In addition, the group will develop new resources to increase national aerosol recycling commitment levels.
Commenting on the event, Giddings remarked that “with the packaging industry set to see significant changes in the coming months and years across Europe, we look forward to sharing our thoughts on the future of aerosol recycling and its role in promoting the circular economy” to which he added that “the event provides us with a unique platform to discuss the UK Aerosol Initiative we launched last year, along with the success of the initiative to date. We hope it will give AEROBAL members something to think about when it comes to implementing similar activities in other countries.”
