The event will cover a variety of topics including environmental packaging, legislation and industry participation. While EPR reforms and DRS legislation will be a central focus on both days, the first day will also feature a series of sessions on net zero, while discussions on the broader supply chain and industry participation will feature heavily on the second day.

Other panelists include Keith Allen, commercial sustainability director at Suntory Beverage and Food GB&I; Sam Gold, public affairs manager at the British Soft Drinks Association; and Phil Fenton, senior packaging and recycling consultant at British Glass. The panel ‘Deposit Return Schemes – will the UK get interoperability?’ will take place at 3.40am on Tuesday 13 June.

Giddings stressed that. “with major policy changes set to transform the packaging industry in the coming months, we look forward to sharing our thoughts and participating in the debate to discuss the future of metal packaging recycling and its role in driving tomorrow’s circular economy.” .
“The Summit provides a great opportunity to shout about the successes of our campaigns, demonstrate how our initiatives are encouraging consumers to recycle and present our views on recent consultation responses. We will also reiterate the importance of the infrastructure changes needed to move ever closer to a 100% recycling rate.” concluded.
