Alupro has launched its Christmas 2024: Santa’s Little Recyclers campaign. Designed to help local authorities increase recycling rates, the program invites households to recycle more aluminum packaging, including meat pie tins, beverage cans, foil wrapping foil, chocolate foil, empty aerosols and metal bottle closures.
UK households throw away millions of tons of packaging during the holiday season. Since aluminum can be recycled over and over again, residents can contribute to a more circular economy by following best practices during one of the busiest consumer periods of the year.
To maximize recycling rates, Alupro has created a series of dedicated resources for local authorities, including an animation as well as a range of static images for use on social media and in local advertising campaigns. The campaign is also supported by radio advertising on Heart Christmas, as well as print inserts in Delicious and Sainsbury’s Magazine throughout December.
“We are keen to support local authorities and work together to increase recycling rates,” said Tom Giddings, managing director of Alupro.said Tom Giddings, executive director of Alupro. “The Christmas season is the ideal time to spread recycling awareness, as those Christmas treats increase the amount of aluminum packaging in households.
“We hope to encourage UK households to take the time to sort and separate. After all, with small changes, we can all enjoy a more sustainable Christmas.”
