Aluflexpack has obtained recertification under version 2 of the Chain of Custody Standard, which validates its production of flexible packaging and the conversion of materials such as aluminum foil, paper and flexible films. This process includes printing, coating and extrusion of aluminum at its Aluflexpack Novi d.o.o. plant in Drniš, Croatia, as well as the manufacture of aluminum capsules and aluminum pet food containers and lids at Process Point Service AG in Einsiedeln, Switzerland.
As of June 1, 2023, all recertifications must conform to the 2022 Standards, and the company has successfully completed the transition to the ASI V2 Chain Custody Standard.
The ASI V3 Performance Standards and V2 Chain Stewardship Standards, introduced in May 2022, set new targets for more responsible production, procurement and management within the aluminum value chain.
The ASI V3 Performance Standard defines 11 principles and 62 criteria organized into three sustainability pillars: Environment, Social and Governance. Its purpose is to address key sustainability issues in the aluminum value chain, such as biodiversity, indigenous peoples’ rights, the circular economy and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
