The Galician aluminium packaging company with more than a hundred years of history continues its business career and has already established itself as one of the reference companies for major national brands such as Mercadona, Henkel or L’Oreal. It currently produces around 130 million aluminium tubes and in 2021 it closed the year with a turnover of around 13 million euros.

With more than a century of history, its origins lie in the canning industry of Vigo, where the Fadrique family began its activity in 1908 as machinery manufacturers and working in the printing of cans for seafood products. Two decades later, Alonarti Talleres Químicos was born, specializing in the manufacture of aluminum containers for different sectors.

The Vigo-based company currently has a staff of 120 workers, and another production centre in neighbouring Portugal. In 2007, for logistical and space reasons, it moved its headquarters and factory to the Pontevedra municipality of O Porriño. And a few years later he also moved his Portuguese centre from Valença to Monçao.

Marta Fernández, commercial director of the company explains that “we have been working for major brands for many years, such as L’Oreal Professional, for whom we manufacture the packaging for their dyes. They are the world’s leading manufacturer of hair dyes for hairdressing salons, and we have been working with them for over 40 years. Today, we supply this brand throughout Europe”.

“We are growing quite a lot in exports because the market in Spain is quite stable. In addition, being located in the Atlantic the maritime shipping of containers works very well, so it is a good exit door for products,” adds Fernandez. The company is the leader in sales in the Iberian Peninsula, but also has large customers in Europe, North Africa and on the other side of the ocean, such as Cuba and Mexico.
